I had an idea for a 3D printing project. Of course, being an old-school kind of guy, almost any idea starts out as a sketch (maybe digital, maybe not), but prototypes are probably not going to be digital. Regardless of the medium, a proof of concept can be mocked-up with card stock or cardboard.
Now, for some reason, I have always had a “thing” against hot glue. Somehow I saw it as a “quick fix” when there are more robust alternatives. Plus, when I am able to carve out time for creative projects, it’s often last minute and on impulse, so waiting for it to heat up can slow things down too much.

“Don’t let perfection stand in the way of progress” is a lesson that I learned long ago and which I must re-learn often. There’s nothing wrong with using whatever materials are on hand to get the project completed. Or at least started.
I guess the lesson is: wait the 5 minutes for the glue gun to heat up. Progress minus 5 minutes is better than no progress at all.
